Make a Joyful Noise!

We Love Making Music

music oneDuring the fall/winter/spring season, the Sanctuary Choir sings 2-3 Sundays per month, the Gospel Choir sings on the third Sunday of the month. Rehearsal for both choirs are at 9:00 am on Sunday monring, prior to worship. We also welcome soloists, ensembles and visiting musicians.

Each year we join with choirs from other churches to sing a larger choral work, accompanied by an orchestra. The last 4 years, these works have been the Vivaldi Gloria, the Christmas portion of Hanel's Messiah, Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach and Faure's Requiem.

Most years we invite Sankofa, an ensemble of The Spirituals Project to perform a concert. An added delight is that our singers are rehearsed and join with Sankofa to perform three selections.

A tradition that we enjoy during the summer months is hosting a gospel concert and ice cream social -- anevent to fellowship with our Park Hill neighbors. We have been fortunate to have accomplished Denver Gospel Musicians prepare and lead our singers in this fun event.

We Love to Play Instrumentsmusic two

Instrumentalists of all ages and levels of expertise are also invited to contribute to the PHCC worship experience. There are numerous opportunities to play an instrument in worship, e.g., Gospel Band, Park Hill Flutes, Early Music Ensemble, Expanded Wind Ensemble and other instrumental ensembles.

We Serve

For the last three years, members of the PHCC Wind Ensemble and other members of the Music Ministry have walked in the MS Walk. The team has walked in honor of members of our community who live with MS and have raised thousands of dollars for MS research.

A huge clothing drive was successfully completed by the Music Ministry members.
