We embrace a liberal and
searching faith that honors all people's best thinking and deepest
feeling. We believe with our pilgrim ancestor, John Robinson, that "there
is yet more light and truth to break forth from God's word."
We are not afraid of questions; in fact, we welcome them.
While respectful of our
tradition, we are open to new insights, interpretations and applications.
In worship we draw a
variety of musical styles, share joys and concerns of the community,
and receive inspiring and relevant messages for the living of these days.
Through education for
children and adults on Sunday mornings and weeknights, we explore
questions of faith and meaning, probe scripture and tradition for
fresh insights, and discuss contemporary issues in light of our faith
commitments of justice, love, compassion, and peace.
In our worship we seek
language that expresses the vastness of God's love and justice, and
the depth and variety of our faith. Through our hymns, liturgy, and
prayers we employ a rich array of images in speaking of God and
humanity. In particular, we invite a variety of names for God in our
Common Prayer. As you pray, you are welcome to address God in
whatever way is most meaningful for you. The printed address
alternates weekly between God and Father.
