2008 Christmas Fund Offering
Our joy at Christmas is a response to God’s promise
of new life through the birth of Jesus Christ. We are called to
share that joy widely both with loved ones and distant
relatives.
Gifts to the Christmas Fund help provide pension and
health premium supplementation to low-income retired pastors,
emergency assistance to the families of clergy and lay employees
and Christmas “Thank You” gift checks to hundreds of annuitants
each year.
In addition to supporting the United Church of
Christ’s Christmas Fund special offering, Park Hill Church will
be supporting four of its major local mission partners with this
offering, including Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP),
Denver Inner City Parish, Ecumenical Refugee Service and Seeking
Common Ground. Also added this year: we will add money to the
pastor’s discretionary fund which gives assistance to members
and neighbors in crisis. The need, for just our members, has
risen sharply in recent months.
Your gifts are needed now more than ever and we ask
that you give generously to this vital ministry of compassion
and care.
Our goal to support all of these causes – with half
to the UCC – is $5,000.
